Long Beach Island

Chowda Fest! Too bad we don't eat chowder!
I took my mom to Long Beach Island 9/29 thru 10/2 for a relaxing visit to our old summer stomping grounds. Other than lazy afternoons napping and reading on the beach. We rediscovered our old homes we used to rent, found our old resturants we used to eat at, and what else you ask?? SHOP of course! Who can pass up sidewalk sales, and end of season sales?! Well, not us, nooooo!
It's funny because I was sick (sore throat, cough, etc.) and all I wanted to eat was a simple cup of Chicken Noodle, maybe Minestrone. Nope, not this long weekend, we decide to go down when the only thing relating to do with soup would Manhattan or New England!! Ick!
Well we had an excellent time and next year it will be for longer and hopefully I won't be sick!

The Lion King

My mom treated me to a Mother Daughter day in the city. It was a day fit for Kings, or in our case Queens, you know what I mean! We ate lunch at the amazing BB King's then headed to see the Lion King at the Amsterdam theater. The theater was amazing with all its intricate carvings and small homey feel.
We were transfixed by the play. It was astounding. Def. in the favorite's catogory now! I don't want to give away too much b/c I am hoping everyone will check it out but all I will say is the way they did the "costume" was like nothing either of us had seen before.

I Used To Have a Green Thumb

This is what is left of a plant that I have had since my 2nd apartment many, many moons ago. He used to be lush, green and full. Overflowing ivy.
His name is Sir Frederick Senior and he traveled to NJ from GA.
He is royalty in my family and now is hanging on by a thread.
I am loving and nurturing him to the best of my ability...I hope it will be good enough.
Please send your prayers to him...He needs it.
